summertime madewell favorites...

Happy Friday!

I am so excited to share with you my most recent FAVORITE look for summer. Let's start with these shorts that I picked up last week... They are the most comfortable and flattering shorts I have ever worn. They are now my #1 go to for hot days, and many of you know that I’m a dress kind of girl! So that's gotta mean something. **Side note, I am normally a 27, but I had to size down to a 26 for these!**

The next item I got was this black bag. Yes, I have (/had) a very similar one for a while that was actually Una’s and had to give it back. Once I saw this in the store, I knew I would love it just as much as my other one.

Last but not least, I got this ring! I have worn it for more than a week now… I’ve washed my hands AND showered with it and guess what?!?! It hasn’t rusted!!! YAY! Good quality jewelry is always so hard to find because normally the pieces will start to decay and rust. :/ After putting it to the test, it gets a 10/10 from me. (I haven't experienced this, but I did read on some of the reviews that over time it might turn to silver. For me it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't turn into that nasty rose/brown gold.)

Thanks for checking out one of my favorite looks for summer!

Power of She...

What makes me feel strong, confident, and powerful?

I feel my best, do my best, and achieve my best when I am confident in what I am wearing. Athleta has helped me feel my best both inside AND out through their versatile atheletic wear. Athleta’s mission is much more than clothing. Their mission is to make women feel strong and empowered one piece of clothing at a time.

I recently tried out this set a couple weeks ago at my local Athleta store and instantly fell in love. At first it was love at first sight, and then love at first fit. This set is not only so freaking cute, but also comfortable and flattering. I couldn’t wait to take it out on my next outdoor activity.

While I was on vacation with my family, I decided to wear it on our trip to the Channel Islands. I couldn’t have been happier with the durable, yet stretchy fabric's quality. My sister, Sterling who was the photographer for this project and who is quite the fitness queen herself (@fitsterlgram), couldn’t stop telling me she was going to take it from my closet the next chance she could. ;) We’ll see about that...

I chose these colors, well, because I’m a sucker for neutrals and I know nobody can ever have enough. The pants hit right below my belly button, and right above my love handles (which is one of my unspoken insecurities). The sports bra is now 100%  one of my most supportive and cute bras! Even though I don’t have much… ;), I still need some support especially when I go for my runs.

The quality and support that the set offers, almost makes me feel like my flaws have run away and are never coming back. More importantly, it makes me forget about them, feel confident, and have a more positive outlook on my workout. Having a positive mind set is crucial for me when running. Otherwise it’s like a have bricks chained to my heels telling me to stop every step I take.

The “Power of She” movement has inspired me to be the most confident woman I know how to be. My hope for this project is to inspire YOU to not only look but feel confident in your body. When wearing this set, I’m not worrying about how I look because I feel amazing.

Athleta’s mission is  "to ignite a community of active, healthy, confident women and girls who empower each other to realize their limitless potential.” What better way to do this?

Thanks for stopping by! What makes you feel empowered?

The perfect summer dress...

It’s Monday! For me this is such is such a great thing! It’s a fresh start and feels honestly like the beginning of summer. These last three weeks have been hectic to say the least. I’m excited to slow things down for a while and take care of the simple things like doing my laundry.

A couple weeks ago, Una and I traveled up to Sonoma just for a night. On the way home, we stopped off at this Castle. It was such a beautiful day, everything seemed perfect! I wore this Ralph Lauren dress (that’s actually Una’s) and found it to be SO comfy and SO cute! I paired it, of course, with a pop of color from this red tote from Topshop.
